At the turn of the 19th century, there is an ambivalent tension in the metropolis Vienna – electrifying and fatal at the same time. Exploitation and starvation haunts the fast growing population but he largely extremely poor mass of people starts to resist, stands up and demands change.
HOLY PROSTITUTION deals with the discrimination and oppression of women under the current regime in Iran. Filmmaker Mehdi Kazemi takes great risks to expose and question the practice of religiously legitimized prostitution through “temporary marriage.”
This film is dedicated to the courageous women in Iran who are fighting for their freedom.
